Curent look of characters

We have changed the fish quite significantly from its initial designs seen in clay moddels as it was not stron enough especially than comparing to human character. Here are current looks of both!

From 2D to 3D and sharing the work.

(in the pictue: character evolution: from 2D drawings to Photoshop colouring, to 3D clay moddels, to 3D Maya moddels)

We are now at the stage where all characters, environments and Prop designs have more or less been completed. We startded with Michael taking care of environments and props while I am was doing both characters, but now as it is all modeled we splited a character each.
Hovewer at all stages we have infuenced and heled in each others work and all characters have the touch from Micheal as well as all environments have some inspirations from me

Conflict- premise

(In the image: at all stages of visual and psychologica developement conflicting values of characters were highlited)

. Conflict is what makes a story successful as it is the key to attract audiences and it comes from contrasts such as between characters. Therefore, even thou story and character are the most important elements of any storytelling form-conflict is the key starting point.

Early 'Fishy science' Poster

‘Fishy Science’

(In the picture: earlier designs of characters)

‘Fishy Science’ is a 3 min. 3D Short set in an underwater lab where little Fish scientist creates himself a helper to assist in his lonely experiments, but what he is about to learn is that it is him that needs help and human is just the right medicine from his loneliness.

So Whats my project all about?

(On the picture: Clay models and they colour variations of main characters)

My honours degree cosists of disertation and animation which ment to inform and help each other.

Me and my classmate Michael Cummings are collaborating to create an animated short "Fishy Science". It's a light harted story about the little lonely fish who in his lonelynes tries to clone the human.

On the disertation side of the project I am doing a study in to the conflict element . The element of story telling which I bebealve is a cornerstone to any succesfull story and needs to be determined before the story and characters- what is the conflict in your story?
